After finding out the hard way that she was autistic, Alisha decided to turn her pain into purpose by creating The Awkward Autistic Black Girl.
TAABG was made with the intention to support, uplift, and encourage neurodivergent women to truly flourish in their unique authenticity, celebrating every aspect of their individuality and strength.
Focus: Leading TAABG’s vision, advocacy, and growth while amplifying the voices of neurodivergent Black women and girls.
Responsibilities:
-Shape and guide TAABG’s mission, programs, and partnerships.
-Serve as the primary public voice and advocate for the community.
-Oversee all organizational decisions, initiatives, and collaborations.
-Ensure cultural competency and authenticity remain at the heart of all work. -

Monet Goode
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH DIRECTOR
Focus: Relationships, representation, and visibility.
Responsibilities:
-Build and maintain connections with neurodivergent Black women & girls, as well as allies.
-Develop culturally competent outreach strategies.
-Organize workshops, events, and advocacy campaigns.
-Partner with schools, healthcare providers, and orgs to improve inclusion.
-Gather community feedback to shape programs. -

Eleanor Parks
PROGRAM & RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Focus: Creating the tools, events, and supports TAABG provides.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and oversee programs (workshops, online courses, support groups).
-Curate culturally relevant educational resources for autistic Black women & girls.
-Coordinate training on autism acceptance and intersectionality for organizations.
-Work closely with you to ensure all programs align with TAABG’s mission.
-Track outcomes and measure program impact.

THERAPIST – MENTAL HEALTH & SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR
Focus: Ongoing emotional, mental health, and life skills support for autistic and neurodivergent Black women and girls.
Responsibilities:
-Provide individual, group, or family therapy using culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices.
-Facilitate support groups, workshops, and wellness programs.
-Assist clients with coping strategies, emotional regulation, and daily life challenges.
-Collaborate with the psychologist for treatment planning when diagnostic clarity is needed.
-Offer immediate, short-term counseling for those on waitlists for long-term care. -

Eleanor Parks
PSYCHOLOGIST - CLINICAL ASSESSMENT & RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Focus: Comprehensive autism and mental health assessment, program oversight, and advocacy for culturally competent diagnostic standards.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct autism evaluations and mental health assessments tailored to Black and neurodivergent women and girls.
-Provide written diagnostic reports and recommendations.
-Develop culturally relevant assessment tools or adapt existing ones.
-Oversee data collection and research on neurodivergent BIPOC experiences.
-Train TAABG staff and community partners on culturally competent diagnostic practices.
-Collaborate with the therapist to align assessment results with ongoing support services.
